The XJ1 design features a series of precision-machined J-Hook grooves across the braking surface. These grooves help refresh the brake pad surface and clear away brake dust, gases and debris generated during braking. Each J-Hook creates additional leading edges across the disc face, allowing the brake pad to engage positively with the friction surface.
